Mexico (Sunday, February 5, 1984)   (March 21, 2009 7:53 AM)

We met at the bus a little later this morning as we weren't able to attend church services out of town because the bus wasn't running properly yet. Some of the crew had plans to take the truck and go to a couple of surrounding towns for bus parts and purified water. Charles gave a nice little sermon to all of us before dinner about creation, strata and enlightened us with some good information on the theory of evolution. Afterwards, the group had some good discussion on this subject. We had dinner and then started our day of shopping.

Market 1

Nearly half of the group boarded a very crowded bus (23 Pesos each) for a trip into the marketplace at Atlacomulco. The market was quite an experience with everything being offered from ground pepper to tools. Our group split up so that we had an interpreter in each group. We agreed to meet at a certain point at 4:00 P.M. so that we could go downtown to the market there. We went about our shopping and the rest of the group found us at the truck. We all shopped together until about 4:15 and then traveled downtown to the other market.

Market 2

Some of the group took a taxi as there wasn't enough room in the truck. We shopped until 5:00 and Charles took a truckload of people back to San Lorenzo. The rest of us finished our shopping and took a taxi home. We had supper then enjoyed some fellowship on the bus and headed for our homes.
