Christmas Cookies (January 10, 2009 10:27 AM)
Remember making sugar cookies and decorating them with powdered sugar frosting at Christmas time.
After baking the cookies, frosting them then sprinkling them with those little colored sugar sparkles
and red hot candies, you get to eat them. Pretty much every year since our two boys have been old enough
to help we have been making them as an annual tradition. The last couple of years, now that my sons are
older, they decided to get a bit more creative and decorate some of the cookies with a theme. Last year
(07) we made soldier cookies
(some with wounds) and nurses. Yeah we still had stars, trees, snowmen, angels and bells, but the soldiers
and nurses were the main focus of our attention. This Christmas we made cookies with football players and
cheerleaders. Since our youngest son is in his freshman year of college, we chose his school colors and made
the football players with numbers for the players at his university. What a lot of fun it was and I am looking
forward to next year. I wonder what theme we will decide on? Stay tuned in and see...
